Why CGI is ideal for product launches
Product launches have one characteristic that sets them apart from any other type of campaign: the date is fixed. All visual content — videos, images, campaign materials — has to be ready for that day. There is no room for shoot complications, issues with the physical product or last-minute revisions.
CGI fits naturally into this context. It allows content production to begin before the physical product exists, iterations to be made without repeating a shoot, and delivery in all required formats from a single production workflow.
"With CGI, launch content can be ready before the product reaches the shelves. The date stops being a problem."
Advantages of CGI in a product launch
Production in parallel with product development
CGI does not need the physical product to get started. With the manufacturer's technical files or design specifications, content production can begin alongside the manufacturing process. By the time the product reaches the warehouse, the content is already done.
Total control over product presentation
In a launch, every visual detail communicates something about the brand. With CGI, lighting, environment, angle and materials are defined with precision — they do not depend on studio conditions or the quality of the available prototype.
All formats from a single model
A launch needs content for multiple channels: video for social media, images for e-commerce, animations for broadcast, materials for internal presentations. A single 3D model produces all formats with no additional cost per channel.
Revisions without additional production cost
If the marketing team decides to change the environment, product colour or lighting before launch, in CGI that is a revision — not a new shoot. The flexibility CGI offers in the revision phase has no equivalent in traditional photographic production.
Reusable 3D model for future campaigns
Once the 3D model is created for the launch, that asset can be reused in future campaigns, product updates or sales materials. The initial investment is amortised across the product's lifecycle.

Get in touchWhat CGI content a launch needs
Not every launch needs the same type of content. The scope depends on the product, the sector and the distribution channels. These are the most common formats:
Launch hero film
The central piece of the campaign — a short, high-impact video that presents the product and communicates the brand's values. Typically 15 to 60 seconds long, adapted to different formats for social media and broadcast. It is the piece that generates the most impact and where CGI offers the greatest advantage over photographic production.
Reels and social media content
Short pieces adapted to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube formats — vertical, square or 16:9. Produced from the same 3D model as the hero film, with duration and format adaptations for each platform.
Product images for e-commerce and catalogue
Static renders of the product from different angles and configurations. Perfect for product pages, digital and print catalogues, and presentation materials for distributors and retailers.
Explanatory animations
For products with technology or features that need to be explained visually — materials, internal construction, operating mechanics — CGI allows animations to be created that show what no camera can capture.

View portfolioHow to plan CGI for a launch
The key to CGI working well in a launch is starting early enough. The standard production timeline is 3 to 5 weeks from briefing approval — plus the time needed to develop the art direction and complete revisions.
Ideal: 8 weeks before launch
With 8 weeks of lead time, there is room to develop the art direction carefully, complete the necessary revisions and deliver all formats without pressure. This is the scenario that delivers the best results.
Minimum viable: 4–5 weeks before
With less than 5 weeks, the project is feasible but requires the brief to be clearly defined from the outset and revision cycles to be agile. In these cases it is important to communicate the launch date from the first contact.
Urgent timelines
For launches with very tight deadlines, it is possible to accelerate production by reorganising the workflow. This carries an additional cost and requires full availability from the brand to provide fast feedback at each stage.
BM Produccions in product launches
We have produced CGI content for launches by sports, luxury and cosmetics brands. We understand the pressure that a launch date brings and work with processes designed to ensure content is ready on time.
If you have an upcoming launch, the first step is a conversation. Tell us about the product, the date and what you need — and we will tell you whether we can do it and how.
